TAKING ACID ON THE BUS part 1

On a clear Jersey summer morning, the events of this crisp morning of my beach front hometown of Asbury Park. No its not Springsteen’s birthplace but it was [ his city ] by the Sea. Just a little tidbit of real Rock & Roll FACT. On with our memory journey, I scanned my bedroom one last time before heading too…. ( Im going change the names of those who were just as guilty as I, of having a mind altering experience of an opportunity givin to us by chance. ) my buddy Sunshine’s house,which is on the otherside of Deal Lake. We called it L.A. cause it sounded kool.It was a very small town right on the Ocean’s shore no more than 3 blocks by 5 blocks ,it’s really called Loch Arbor NJ. It was about a 15 minute walk from my house to his, Bear, Smuck and Cally would already be there cause Cally lived right next door to Sunshine and Bear right across the street. And Smuck sleept over Sunshine’s. We got our snacks and beers and other Sprites, the night before. HEINEKEN, BLUE NUN, BLACK TOWER, TWINKIES, BAZOOKA BUBBLE GUM, DEVIL DOGS & CHEEZE ITS LOTS O CHEEZE ITS. Our main supply of goodies was the drugs, more than enough weed Smuck came up with some Hash and we got our favorite LSD at the time SNOOPY SOMBREROS BLOTTER. AGH…..                                 As a rule when we dose one of the group sat it out,its always good to have a trusted friend to keep an eye on those who were um heading out. Thankfully the ODD DUDE as we called the designated non tripper,was a reliable well supplied buddy. As I approached my fellow tye- dyed bluejean wearing anxious DEADHEAD group, I noticed Bear wearing dress shorts and his favorite Polo shirt and Yachting shoes. Bears family had a few bucks but Bear never flaunted an ego about it in plain terms he was a little bit better off then us,but hey! times were plenty good, and jobs everywhere especially living on the JERSEY SHORE. The Real Jersey Shore not the band of pool scum displayed on The UNREALITY TV Show. Anyway , Bear nice outfit, perfect for a MSG DEAD Show. It was nothing out of the ordinary for Bear to look out of place, but before the this night is over, BEAR will be in tye-dye.
