(NO JOKE JOKERS) Jack 1989
Heath 2008
Joaquin 2019 All of these elite actors tackled the role. Everyone of them did a great job bringing the Joker to life on the big screen. Big money, big production, big promotion, big time effects, they had everything. Not one of them insulted the character of it’s intended ruthlessness. As a matter of fact they were amazing making the Joker their very own version. Jack the dark humored revengeful crafty Joker. Heath the sinister crazed calculated murderous Joker. Joaquin the sensitive misunderstood neglected homicidal Joker. Before these men took on this role, there was another Joker, unknown to some fans who rather stay with the movie Joker. However the guy who I think is the greatest Joker of them all. Who is this guy, well let’s look at the man who started it all. (THE GREATEST JOKER OF THEM ALL)
Cesar Julio Romero Jr. Born February 15, 1907 in NYC – Died January 1, 1994 Santa Monica, California, aged 86 years. AKA The Latin from Manhattan. He was educated in New Jersey at the Bradley Beach Elementary School & Asbury Park High School, the Collegiate School, & the Riverdale Country Day School. He served aboard the Coast Guard-manned assault transport USS Cavalier in November 1943. According to a press release, Romero saw action during the invasions of Tinian and Saipan. So you see he has some swag about him. Forget about the millions of women wanting to bang this Latin Lover, but he was a great actor as well as a singer and dancer. If he were to ever have been on Dancing With the Stars he’d be the King of the Dance Floor. Now let’s check out his work as the greatest Joker ever and why.
(KILL THE BATMAN) This was the Joker I was raised on. I couldn’t wait for an episode that he was in. He freaked me out as a kid, however watching them now, I see a whole different Joker then he was as a kid. He was supposed to be campy comedic character not to be taking like Heath say’s in The Dark Knight in 2008, “why so serious” Cesar’s role became more of a blue print for those to follow in his set path. He showed and proved how the Joker should be portrayed. I feel that he had everyone of the traits the others portrayed in their roles. Cesar Romero’s Joker had dark humor, he was revengeful, very crafty
he was sinister, crazy, calculated, murderous,
he was sensitive, misunderstood, neglected, homicidal,
His attempts at killing Batman as well as Robin, you see his plans of murder include 2 people at all times, were all with in the realm of possible. His laugh and his facial reactions show the intent at that moment. Look back on the episodes and see what his plot is at all times, It’s not the crime it’s drawing out Batman and Robin, for yet another chance to kill them both. his Jokes are not all that easy to figure out, yet no challenge for Batman, once again we see the Joker getting into Batman’s head, he is great at playing the mind fuck with Batman. Why do you think the Joker is Batman’s greatest foe, his most murderous of foes, his Professor Moriarty, his Lex Luther, they all have that one son of a bitch that he just can’t shake.
For me this Joker is no doubt thee greatest Joker ever. I’m sure there are many of you who will disagree with me but that’s kool. We all have our favorites but when you break it all down, there has got to be a #1 and for us here on the 3rd Floor Podcast say that Cesar Julio Romero Jr. you are by far the GREATEST JOKER EVER. Awesome content mate!
I’m kind of bummed that Mark Hamill’s joker wasn’t given a honourable mention but altogether awesome article here.
I’m going to give Romero’s joker a try.
Dami from Nigeria.
Thank you sir for the comment. I did not include Hamill’s be cause he was a voice, I was talking about on the screen, I was not a big fan of the Hamill series anyway. Hey keep an eye out for our Greatest Batman ever, Have a good one stay safe, vav
I use to catch re-runs of the Adam West Batman all the time on Nick at Nite when I was a kid. I always liked the Episodes with the Joker in it. Caesar Romero nailed it every time with being deranged, calculating, sadistic and murderous. If you can see past the bright colors of the 1960s he really was the most dangerous of all the Jokers.
