[ A B-MOVIE HOLLYWOOD STORY ] ” BOB MEET ALAN ” So how does ” CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS ‘, cross paths with one of if not the most loved and watched Christmas Movie of all time, ” A CHRISTMAS STORY “. Well late 1971 is when Bob and Alan sat down and wrote what is now an even more amazing of a B- Movie. It’s release is in 1972 but first lets take a look at these two writer directors. Alan Orsmby is born Dec 12, 1943 and according to google is still alive. His work you may be aware of and seen just don’t know it. Well the 3rd Floor Podcast got ya covered! Alan’s work includes screenwriting ” My Bodyguard 1980 “- ” The Little Dragons 1980 “- ” CAT PEOPLE 1982 “- ” Porky’s II The Next Day 1983 ” he also created the famous doll seen on ” Uncle Flyod’s Variety Show ” and ” Pee Herman Show ” HUGO!!
This next part is not easy but Bob Clark was a victim of a drunk driver as was his youngest son Ariel (22). Pacific Coast Hi-way California Pacific Pallisades outside L.A. on April 4th 2007. A man driving a SUV went head on into Bob and his son driving his Infinity I30, both killed instantly, the wreck closed the hi-way for over 8 hours.justice served well the 3 times over the limit driver gets 6 years in state prison. Bob’s short time gave us some great films his work includes, ” BLACK CHRISTMAS 1974 “- ” MURDER BY DECREE 1979 “- ” TRIBUTE 1980 “- ” PORKY’S 1981 ” and his masterpiece ” A CHRISTMAS STORY 1983 ” Bob also won 3 GENI AWARDS 2 for Directing and 1 for Best Screenplay. That being told the boy’s have $50,000 in the budget 87 minutes to film they got GENI FILM DISTIBUTED on board and Carl Zitter for the music, they are ready to make their B-Movie film history. 
“GRAB A SEAT ” Kool, got my ticket agh!, the snack bar. Let see, let me have a 3 month old box of those SNO-CAPS, and I’ll have a five gallon cup of flat Pepsi and a XXX- triple size bucket of xtra stale popcorn. Let’s go get a seat! This seat appears safe to sit in, my favorite spot just pass halfway down on the left first seat. Perfect timing the coming attractions always loved watching old time trailers. !! IT’S TIME FOR OUR FEATURE PRESNTATION !! So here’s the plot. Alan the fearless leader of this band of struggling new breed actor’s and actress’. Who attend Alan’s Studio in Manhattan. They dock their borrowed boat armed with all sorts of goodies , including a trunk with a get ahold of satan and raise dead bodies handy dandy kit, cape included. The group treks along though some thick trees and then though the graveyard of rapist, murderers, and other dreggs of life. The island long abandon is creepy with the thick fog and mist and over grown and unattended landscape. As we will find out soon the last caretaker hung himself after killing his family with of course an axe. Our little disturbed group already being freaked out by their surroundings, find and break into the caretakers house. It’s nothing more than a two story cabin. After laying out the plan of devilish actions of the nights events, off they go carrying the trunk and a few other assorted things they set forth to the graveyard to get ahold of satan and dig up a dead body for the red fellow. No spoiler PLOT TWIST. Now our totally freaked out group of upstaged actors, they head back to the cabin with Orville in tow. After some hi-jinx with Orville and a if you don’t like it moment of truth, with Allan setting the wanting to get the fuck off the island group of actors straight, ” If you don’t like it you can hand in your card, and have a nice swim”. No spoiler PLOT TWIST. Now with the numbers decreasing rapidly around the few that are still left well they didn’t make it, Alan’s demise is one of the creepiest moments of our flick, as well the final credit roll. No i’m not going to tell you what happens but I do say one of the more chillin unsettling endings of any horror movie, something about credits rolling with no music bed just the sounds of the scenes. Look I’m not reviewing The Godfather or Gone With the Wind, it’s B-Movie folk’s. here’s the cast that in my opinion one of the greatest B-Movies ever filmed.
